Wedding Design — Haley & Cole

monogram, invitations, etc.

Winter 2024 - June 2025

The first thing my clients asked me to design for them was a monogram incorporating both of their initials which they planned to use in several of their wedding materials like their invitations, custom beer koozies, souvenir match boxes, etc.

After testing several different type treatments, outline shapes, and other small elements of the design, the final monogram is displayed here.
For the invitation, the clients wanted to prioritize a clean, minimalist design. They wanted the monogram to be the main flourish, integrating the script font from the monogram for accents, and were willing to experiment with some sort of border element to tie the design together.

The final invitation is displayed here.
An additional card for those invited to the rehearsal ceremony and dinner also needed to be created. The clients’ vision for this card was similar to that for the invitation, wanting to prioritize simplicty and minimalism. Since the monogram would already be on the invitation, we didn’t feel the need to incorporate it onto this card as well.

The final rehearsal card is displayed here.
Since the clients’ RSVP service is through a website, they wanted to include a details card where the website could be spelled out in full without crowding or distracting from the invitation itself. Inspired by detail cards that serve as an opportunity to incorporate more color or patterns, the clients wanted to play around with the use of one or the other for their detail card.

We tried several variations incorporating various patterns the clients plan to use on other signage, but in the end, went with a fairly simple stripe detail which also allowed variation in the blue used as the opacity was played with. The final details card is displayed here.
Other signage I designed for the wedding included a bar menu.
Signature drink sign.
For the seating chart at the wedding, the couple wanted to do a theme of “The People and Places That Have Shaped Us.” My role was to make each card for the seating chart display where guests could find their names and tables as well as the signs that labeled each individual table and told the story of the place for which the table was named.

Here is a slidedeck detailing the process of designing the monogram and invitation with my client.
