“LOST DOG” Style Poster Design Creative Assignment

Typography Course Exercise — Parsons School of Design, The New School

Fall 2024

The assignment was to pick any object (or furry friend), and design four variations of  black and white “Lost ____” posters, inspired by traditional “LOST DOG” posters, each poster guided by different parameters. The parameters generally pertained to the amount and style of the information to be included on each poster, i.e. more or less, full sentences or brief bullet points. For one poster, we were tasked with emulating a style reminiscent of an infographic.

(NOTE: THE PHONE NUMBER ON THE POSTERS IS FAKE)

Visually busier, short bursts of information
More information, in a longer sentence format
Minimal information
“Infographic” style

Event Poster (in color) Design Creative Assignment

Typography Course Exercise — Parsons School of Design, The New School

Fall 2024

The assignment was to pick any event for which we could redesign a promotional poster for, building off of the previous assignment where we practiced poster layouts, this time incorporating color. Inspired by my love of oysters, I chose to redesign that year’s NYC Oyster Fest poster. I went through many potential iterations (two of which are included below) before landing on the standalone design below as the final product.
